Stacy O'Neill has been teaching in the Hollywood area for over eight years. She was born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio where she began her musical instruction at the age of five at the Cleveland Institute of Music. It was there that she studied piano under Anita Pontremoli, music theory with Bonnie Biggs, dalcroze/eurhythmics with Elsa Findley and classical guitar with Andrej Mentschukoff until she graduated in 1982. As a student, she also sang with the Cleveland Orchestra Children's Chorus and through a scholarship attended the Festival of 1000 Oaks where she received master classes with world renown pianist Emmanuel Ax.

Stacy's low key, relaxed approach to teaching allows her to focus on analyzing and improving each students' individual strengths and weaknesses with various methods of instruction. She believes that it is not only her musical education that has made her a unique and compassionate teacher but her commitment to adjusting to each students' ways of absorbing and processing information that has made it possible.

She also believes that while an academic education is fundamental to preparing one's mind for the future, it is equally important to impart an artistic education to stimulate creativity, improve memory, provide a feeling of accomplishment, relieve stress, foster patience, lengthen concentration and communicate emotions.

Teaching in the home provides a more relaxed and less formal environment for children and a more convenient one for adults and parents. Lessons will consist of learning to read notes with equal emphasis on rhythm and tempo and fun games are often used to help children understand and remember these key components. Pianos are not required but some type of keyboard, most commonly electronic, is necessary not only to teach but also to use as required practice between lessons. These keyboards are available in many local stores or may be purchased on-line.

Yearly piano recitals are given to provide students an opportunity not only to display their musical talents but to also inspire them when  listening to their fellow students.
